They have been in existence since February of 2007 when Theresa rescued our founder, Lily, from Reedgate Kennels in Missouri. When Theresa got to the auction, Lily was sitting up in the back of her cage in the dark barn that she lived in. Lily was sitting on her back legs and rubbing her stomach with her front paws and looking Theresa square in the eyes and asking her for help.

Theresa knew that she couldn't leave the auction without Lily and said, "We may have come 800 miles for one dog."
